Mr. Albert has wide experience negotiating and litigating against insurance companies in connection with coverage disputes involving indemnity claims, director's and officer's liability polices, errors and omissions policies, and comprehensive general liability policies.

  • Mr. Albert has represented commercial and residential real estate developers in negotiating indemnity and defense payments from their insurance carriers in connection with construction defect and related class action litigation.

  • Mr. Albert, acting as "second chair" counsel, played a lead role in obtaining tens of millions of dollars in indemnity payments by the insurers of a major, publicly-traded residential development company to capitalize a wholly-owned home warranty company that Mr. Albert helped to establish in connection with the settlement of various state-wide class action suits alleging breach of warranties and related claims arising from construction defect damages.

  • Mr. Albert had a significant role in the team of coverage counsel negotiating and litigating defense and indemnity obligation of the insurance carriers which issued policies of insurance to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in connection with the Clergy sex abuse cases, that settled for over $700 million in the aggregate, with hundreds of millions of dollars in settlement funds contributed by insurance carriers.

  • Mr. Albert has negotiated tens of millions of dollars in defense and indemnity payments by insurance companies for the benefit of corporations and their officers and directors sued in consumer fraud, unfair competition and securities fraud actions.

  • Mr. Albert has successfully arbitrated fee disputes on behalf of companies and individuals against insurance companies.
